What this tool does

How do I find out when an Instagram account was created?
Run the profile through this tool. The join date comes from Instagram's own 'About this account' panel, usually as a month and year.
How can I tell if an Instagram account is fake?
The strongest signals are all here at once: a recent join date, a country that doesn't match the content, former usernames, and a follower count out of step with the post count and engagement. None is proof on its own; together they're a good filter.
What are former usernames?
Handles the account used before. Instagram keeps them on record, and a chain of unrelated ones is a common sign of an account that was bought, resold or repurposed.
Do I need to follow the account?
No. Public profiles are readable with no login, no follow and no notification to them.
