What this extension does
Instagram Comment & Post Exporter lets you export the comments on a public Instagram post or reel, or the posts on a public profile, to a CSV or JSON file. It works only on public data and requires no Instagram login.
Information we do <em>not</em> collect
The extension does not collect, store or transmit your personal information. It does not read your browsing history, your Instagram account, your cookies, your credentials or any data from sites other than the Instagram URL you choose to export. It contains no advertising or third-party tracking, and it does not sell or share any data.
What is sent, and to whom
When you click Export, the extension sends the single public Instagram URL you entered (a post, reel or profile) to our backend at hammadi.dev, which fetches the public data for that URL and returns it to you as the export. That URL, plus your IP address as seen by any web request, is processed only to fulfil the export and to enforce a fair-use rate limit. No account identifiers are involved because the extension has none.
Permissions and why they are needed
activeTab — to read the URL of the tab you are on so the export form can be pre-filled with the post or profile you are viewing. downloads — to save the exported CSV or JSON file to your computer. Host access to hammadi.dev — to send the export request and receive the data. The extension requests no access to Instagram or any other site.
Data retention
The export file is generated on request and delivered to you; we do not build a profile of you. Requested public data may be briefly cached to serve repeat lookups faster, and rate-limit counters are kept transiently. None of this identifies you personally.
